Designing a calmer therapist-matching product direction

Strategy, service design and product prototyping for a more thoughtful first step into mental health support.

Project snapshot

Product design and AI-product-design direction for trust-sensitive therapist matching: strategy, public positioning, therapist outreach, research, sandbox testing, feedback loops, and operator dashboards.

Therapair grew from work with Unison Mental Health on a sensitive product question: how might someone find a therapist who feels like a good fit without being pushed through a cold directory or an overconfident recommendation engine?

That sounds like a matching problem, but in practice it is a trust problem. People may be anxious, tired, private, unsure what to ask for, or worried about being misunderstood. The product had to support fit, consent, explainability, and a careful handoff into care.

My role was to turn that early idea into a product direction people could understand, test, and improve. That meant shaping strategy, a marketing website, therapist-facing documentation, email campaign flows, a research survey, a sandbox prototype, feedback loops, and an operator dashboard into one connected product-learning system.
